Certificate "Training in the provision of medical care"
The supplementary professional program "Training in accordance with paragraphs 4 to 6 of Section A-VI/4 of the STCW Code (paragraph 2 of Regulation VI/4 of the STCW Convention)" was developed in accordance with Section A-VI/4, Table A-VI/4-2 of the International STCW Code 78 as amended (hereinafter referred to as the STCW Code) Federal Law No. 273-FZ of December 29, 2012 "On Education in the Russian Federation" (as amended), Regulation on Certification of Crew Members of Sea Vessels (approved by Order No. 378 of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation of November 8, 2021).
Purpose of the program and tasks
The aim of the program is to develop competencies in accordance with the requirements of Regulation VI / 4 of the STCW Convention and Section A-VI/4 (Table A-VI/4-2). The STCW Code.
The purpose of the program is to train personnel assigned to provide medical care on board the ship.
The goal is that in the course of training, students should gain knowledge, understanding and professional skills to take urgent effective action on the following issues::
1) treatment of injuries, diseases and other conditions in shipboard conditions that require urgent medical care with the use of medicines available in the pharmacy;
2) organization of medical care and maintenance of body functions in case of injuries, diseases and other pathological conditions, ability to take a serious patient to the nearest medical institution;
3) preparing the victim for evacuation to a helicopter, other vessel, or hospital;
4) knowledge of the main provisions of the guiding documents on first aid, international and national marine medical regulations, standards for maintaining medical records;
5) knowledge of coordinated schemes for providing medical assistance to courts;
6) the ability to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
